Grassroots Illinois Action
Grassroots Illinois Action (GIA) was created with just a small group of Humboldt Park Area (HPA) neighbors in 2014 who built our organization (now with over 100 members and growing) from the ground up to hold elected officials accountable to the needs of working families in our community. By establishing year round permanent infrastructure, GIA is now expanding the political influence of working families independent of established party politics - and winning - taking back Chicago for our communities all across Chicago.
- To take our organization to the next level in building power for working families, we need to raise the resources to get us there for things like:
- Expanding and growing our issue committees (school funding, affordable housing, etc)
- Hosting membership meetings
- Reaching new neighbors
- Covering canvassing costs for our issue campaigns this summer
We are bringing people together to create change in our community and taking on this work right now to reach hundreds of new neighbors -- takes time, money and resources. There is a lot at stake right now and we need your support to make it all happen.
GIA is the place where you can make a difference.
- Being an independent political organization is made possible through monthly grassroots donations from our community members.
- It’s grassroots supporters, like you, that make our work possible even now- and help us reach more neighbors to elect community leaders who will fight for our interests, breaking the cycle of 'politics as usual'.
